Papua New Guinea, a large island located in the southwestern Pacific, northeast of Australia where Simbai Balus Kopi (Airplane Kopi) coffee comes from. Located near the Western Highlands and Sepik Province isolated regions surrounded by rugged steep mountain sides and scattered valleys of grasslands only accessible by small aircraft. In order to export harvested coffee beans, some locals have to walk for days from their farms, laden with enormous 50kg bags of handpicked ripe coffee cherries to the airstrip to be transported for processing.
